Last week, this guy got promoted! He is a warrant officer in the army and he flies helicopters. When he is not flying he has some odd and end type of things he does, but for the most part his unit seems to be goofing off when they aren't flying. They have lots of fun!

I think he is pretty cute.
After he graduated Warrant Officer Candidate school, back in the summer of 2009 (right before we got married)... he was pretty much guaranteed this promotion. After two years you go from Warrant officer 1 to a Chief Warrant Officer 2. But, he does an outstanding job at flying and doing any little type of "chore" he has. He has made a good impression and his unit likes him.
Waiting for the promotion.. Londyn is taking a rest on Grandpa.

Before Sam's promotion, 5 soldiers got some sort of award for a mission they did in Ireland. They ended up having an accident and one of the helicopters was "totaled." They ended up being stuck in Ireland for a while. It was an interesting story.
Taking off the old rank and putting on the new.
Sam's dad changed the rank on his hat.

Sam shook a lot of hands.

 With his new certificate.. yay!
When you get promoted in the Army, usually some silliness goes a long with it. It's what they like to call "hazing!!" They made him do some pushups...
just so they could pour a trash can full of water on him.
He was quite the trooper and kept right on with the pushups even though the water was super heavy.
His back even hurt the rest of the day.
After the water came lots of powdered sugar!
He figured he might as well have a little taste.
A congratulatory shake.

I am so proud of Sam because he does everything he asked to do and does it to the best of his ability. He is responsible and thoughtful and takes everything with just the right amount of seriousness. This promotion day was fun. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, and I absolutely love going out to the flight line with all those huge helicopters. It is so much fun! Londyn had a blast watching some take off and land. I am so happy Sam is in a good unit with some great friends. We are in a good place.

Congrats to that amazing husband of mine!
